Venezuelan Coffee Beans
At one time Venezuela ranked
third in the world in coffee production, but now produces
only 1% of the world's coffee (David's,
60). Venezuela cultivates Typica, Bourbon, Mundo
Novo, and Caturra coffee varietals. The best coffees that are
still produced are in the Maracaibos area, which is located
on the western part of the country bordering Colombia.
The finest Maracaibos coffees are Mèridda, Trujillo, and
Táchira. They display balanced acidity, slight
richness, and sweet flavors.
